The Jaguar D Type

The Jaguar D-Type was built between nineteen fifty four and nineteen fifty seven, a total of three years. The D type shared the same engine design as the previous C Type Jaguar, although this was the only similarity between the two cars, with the D Type having major changes made from its predecessor. The most notable change was the monocoque chassis, which was highly innovative and drastically improved aerodynamics and efficiency, a large feat for a competitive racing car. The car originated as a competitive racing car, but once Jaguar ceased racing the D-Type was converted for public sales.

The Jaguar XKSS was the road car created from the left over D-Types. An additional seated was added to the car, a full windscreen, a passenger door, and other changes to make the car more practical for the general public.

Unfortunately for Jaguar, a fire destroyed nine of the twenty five cars which were either completed or close to completion on the twelfth of February nineteen fifty seven. The market for high performance European cars was highly profitable in that time, the main reason for converting the unused chassis into production cars to gain back some of the investment.

The design on the D-Type really mirrored that of an aircraft, with the innovative introduction of the monocoque body style. The fuel for the car was within bags within the cells of the chassis, another design aspect which mimicked that of aircraft engineering. The aircraft style like engineering was down to the work of Sayer, a former Bristol Aeroplane Company worker, who successfully brought his innovative design to the table.

From a mechanical standpoint, the D-Type shared many attributes with that of the previous C-Type. The engine was unchanged, and the disc brakes kept. The major changes came from the work of Sayer, who managed to make the car much more aerodynamic and efficient. The body style was so successful the Jaguar E-Type maintained many features as the successor of the legendary D-Type.

Bonhams auction sold a first factory production D-Type for £2.2m in the summer of 2008 at their popular auctions.

The 2006 Jaguar XK8

Las Vegas, the most populous city in the U.S. state of Nevada. Las Vegas, it is not just an internationally renowned major resort city that is known for its gambling, shopping and entertainment. But as the entertainment capital of the world it also has places to go and things to do where you wouldn't spend that much money. Where are these places? What are these things? Sit back and relax for I am about to tell you.

One of the great sights to go to Las Vegas is the Lion Habitat at the MGM Grand. This place opened in July 1999 as has a glassed-in enclosure that showcases up to five lions a day. The Lion Habitat also features a transparent tunnel where you can be surrounded by the lions. After your trip in the wildlife we are of the urban jungle of New York City. New York, New York Hotel and Casino opened in 1997 and includes a replica of the statue of liberty. It also features a roller coaster that loops around skyscrapers. You can also stroll inside the art-deco interiors and replica of Central Park.

After New York, we are going to one of my favorites. The Dancing Fountains of Bellagio. The Bellagio Hotel opened in 1998 and features a man made turquoise lake that becomes a stage ground for a 1,000-foot-long fountain display. The fountain can burst jets of water 240 feet in the air sweeping and dancing to Andrea Botticelli and Sarah Brightman's Con Tee Partiro. Then after experiencing the element of water dance. We move onto another element, the element of fire. The Flaming Volcano at the Mirage erupts every 15 minutes from 7 pm to midnight and sends fire 100 feet into the sky and transforming into a waterfall of molten lava. Las Vegas is crazy! And to top it all, we are going to rent a car. Las Vegas offers a lot of exotic, sports, luxury, and classic cars for rent. One of these cars is the 2006 Jaguar XKR Convertible "Supercharged V8".

The 2006 Jaguar XKR Convertible "Supercharged V8" is a gorgeous car that has 400 horsepower V8 engine. It has got a timeless look similar to the E-type of the 1960s, it has got comfort, it has got safety and performance features a premium sports-luxury car should have.

The 2006 Jaguar XKR Convertible "Supercharged V8" has got Auto transmission, GPS, heater, air conditioner, stereo and a capacity that is good for four people. Now, are you excited to come to Las Vegas? Sure you are. See ya in Las Vegas! Bye!

The Jaguar XJ 2009

This coming July the latest revolutionary Jaguar XJ will be unveiled in London preceding its opening in the latter part of 2009 with the intention of reclaiming some of its regular executive clients. The XJ was previously the natural and patriotic vehicle of choice for board directors all over corporate Britain, but has since been replaced by the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

However, the XJ will attempt to open a new customer base through new styling, lightweight alloy construction, and new powerplants. Dubbed as Project X351, it started out as a simple reskin of the present XJ model, but as the project progressed its engineering became more expanded making the K351 the first Jaguar flagship to be introduced with a re-engineered body and new powerplants. In the past Jaguar did what most carmakers do - launch cars with new bodies but with old version engines for reason of lowering costs. The structure is basically new with the rear structure modified to house the XK's differential which needs a new subframe and new mounts.

The experiences of the carmaker in reskinning and repackaging of the S-type into the XF are currently being used in the XJ. The Jaguar began with a coupe-derived rear cabin, with a low rear seat for a low-mounted rear window. The design, however, has evolved into a more functional shape which was motivated by making the rear cabin as comfortable as possible for a chauffeured executive. The XF motivated the styling although there are information coming out that the car is expected to come with a more stunning appearance.

An informant within the project said that many will not be prepared for what they will see when the car comes out. The improvements also follow into the interior of the car.The new XJ model, which carries over some elements from the XF, such as the rotary gear selector and the basic theme with lots of shiny wood and metallic trim, has brought the design to a whole new level of craftsmanship and excellence.

2009 Jaguar XK-S Limited Edition

2009 Jaguar XK-S Limited Edition

Jaguar has made an impressive start to 2009, with new vehicle sales up by 22% on a year on year basis. Jaguar is one of only a few automotive brands to record sales growth in 2009, and to capitalise on this achievement, a new XK limited edition model, the Jaguar XK-S, will be launched this month.

Like every Jaguar to carry the XK badge, the XK-S is all about performance with style - plus a large helping of individuality. The Jaguar XK-S offers its own spin on the 4.2 liter V8 XK in coupe form.

The car offers a host of additional extras beyond the XK's already impressive specification at no extra cost. In true Jaguar tradition, every XK-S will be a highly desirable car with an impressively accessible price tag.

The Jaguar XK-S customer will benefit from dramatic 20-inch Senta alloy wheels, luxury sports interior (including soft grain leather and 16 x 16 way seats), a sporty brushed aluminum gear knob and bright finish pedals plus distinctive body enhancements: new front and rear valence panels, chrome-finished side vents and bright finish upper and lower front mesh grilles, special tailpipe finishers and appliqués on both sides of the car. All vehicles will carry exclusive "S" badging. These additional features have a retail value of approx. $25,000 at no additional charge to the customer.

To emphasise the exclusive nature of the XK-S model, there will only be 9 cars in total produced for the Australian market. Chris Lidis, General Manager, Jaguar Australia, commented: "We are very pleased to be able to offer Jaguar customers the Jaguar XK-S. The specification is quite unique, and very exclusive. It combines outstanding performance and dramatic beauty with individual touches of craftsmanship and equipment that lift it to another level".

Jaguar's advanced all aluminum construction makes the XK and XK-S the lightest yet strongest car in it's class; CATS Computer Active Technology Suspension underpins it's perfect balance of control and agility with comfort and refinement; it's six speed automatic transmission is recognized as one of the world's best, and it is powered by an acclaimed engine - the 219kW 4.2-litre AJ-V8.

Available to order now, the Jaguar XK-S is available in 3 colors - Indigo blue, Ultimate Black, Liquid Silver, and with a choice of Caramel or Warm Charcoal interior. The XK-S will carry a recommended retail price of $209,400.
